SBEA 2014 LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR

As you come to the end of the 2013-2014 school year, it is time to turn your thoughts to the 2014 SBEA Leadership Development Seminar (LDS). The LDS will be held at the 2014 SBEA Convention in Little Rock, Arkansas, October 1 – 4, 2014.

The SBEA Leadership Development Seminar will be devoted to the topics of networking, understanding and enhancing SBEA and NBEA organizational structure, delegating, motivating, facilitating, and exploring other practical topics that will develop or enhance leadership skills. It’s an exciting time for business education as we continue to grow and adapt and be motivated—and motivate others. Our organization is confronting a time of many changes and we’re meeting these changes during a time of larger nation-wide and global change. The world of business education is an exciting area in which to be involved and we’ll continue to meet and bring inspired people together in forums like this, to ensure that our organization remains at the cutting edge.

Each state will select three delegates who have not previously participated in the Leadership Development Seminar. These participants should be interested in developing or enhancing their leadership skills to be used in professional organizations or positions. This seminar is NOT designed for State Presidents, Presidents-Elect, or State Membership Directors; but be sure you check out the seminar designed specifically for these officers.

Please begin thinking about who you’re LDS participants will be! LDS will be led by Dr. Robert B. Blair, President-Elect, National Business Education Association and Madge Gregg, Past-President, National Business Education Association. In August, you will receive a follow-up reminder letter requesting the names of your state’s participants. If you know who will be attending before that, please forward that information to me.

If you are no longer in a leadership position in your state association, please send this to the current President and email me that person’s name, address, and email address.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Robin M. Albrecht

SBEA Vice President
