Madge Gregg began her teaching career in Cottage Grove, Minnesota at Park High School, and in 1988 joined the faculty at Berry High School (now Hoover High School) in Hoover, Alabama. She has remained in Hoover since, teaching a range of classes that includes accounting, entrepreneurship and business management. She holds bachelors and master’s degrees in business education from Northern Michigan University and earned certification by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in November of 2009. In March of 2010, Madge was selected as the Alabama School District 4 Secondary Teacher of the Year. Over the past nine years, Madge helped grow Hoover’s Finance Academy, developing curriculum and forging community partnerships to provide internship and scholarship opportunities for her students. She and her colleagues opened The Buc Stop school store to give students practical lessons in business and help fund educational activities. Madge Gregg is the Past-President of the National Business Education Association and was named the association’s Secondary Teacher of the Year for 2009. Five years ago, she helped launch the first chapter of the National Business Honor Society at Hoover High School.
Dr. Robert B. Blair is a professor of Business Communication and Entrepreneurship in the Jennings A. Jones College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). He also serves as director of the Center for Economic Education. He serves on both the Honors and Graduate faculties at MTSU. Dr. Blair received his Ph.D. in Vocational Education from Louisiana State University, M.B.E. in Business Education from MTSU, and B.S. in Business Administration and Business Education from Oral Roberts University. Dr. Blair has taught at the secondary and collegiate levels. He has also served as sponsor to Future Business Leaders of America, Phi Beta Lambda, and Collegiate Secretaries International chapters. He is a lifetime member of FBLA-PBL. Dr. Blair is a Certified Online Instructor, Certified Business and Social Etiquette Consultant, and Professional Registered Parliamentarian. He was the first Tennessee career and technical education teacher to earn National Board Certification. During his 27 year teaching career, Dr. Blair has been the recipient of 25 honors and awards for teaching, research, and service. Most recently, he was the recipient of the National Association of Parliamentarians District III Outstanding Teacher of Parliamentary Procedure 2013, Tennessee Association of Parliamentarians 2012 Alpha Brown Individual Achievement Award, 2008-2009 Jennings A. Jones College of Business Outstanding Faculty Award, 2007 National Business Education Association (NBEA) Collegiate Teacher of the Year Award, 2007 Southern Business Education Association (SBEA) Outstanding Leadership Award, and the 2006-2007 Robert McLean Distinguished Associate Professor Award. Dr. Blair is an accomplished academic author and conference presenter. Blair is actively involved in professional and public service. He has been a member of NBEA/SBEA for 28 years. He is currently serving on the NBEA Executive Board (President-elect), NBEA Leadership Awards Administrative Committee (Chairman), NBEA Leadership Task Force, NBEA Business Teacher Credentialing Task Force, National Association for Business Teacher Education Board (President), Policies Commission for Business and Economic Education, Tennessee Association of Parliamentarians Board (President) and Tennessee Delta Unit of Parliamentarians Board (Vice President). Dr. Blair is past president of the Southern Business Education Association, Tennessee Business Education Association, Tennessee Association of Parliamentarians, Gamma Eta Chapter of Delta Pi Epsilon, Tennessee Delta Unit of Parliamentarians, and Murfreesboro Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals. He served two terms as Tennessee Association for Career and Technical Education vice president. He is an active member of several other professional associations. Dr. Blair serves on many other national, regional, state, and local organization committees.
